How Registry Errors Can Make A Computer Less Stable

2010-02-05

Crashes are the hallmark of an unstable computer. No user wants their computer to crash on them at any time, but especially not when they are working on important information. Ideally, these should never occur, but due to instability of programs, they are far too common. Often, these are caused by errors in a windows registry. Fortunately, crashes of this kind are preventable with windows registry cleaners.

First off, what is a Windows Registry? In a few words, it is the nuts and bolts of a computer. It is the listing of all the programs running at the same time as well as the listing of all the programs installed, which could be running. Each program requires a certain amount of resources. If two computers simultaneously reach for the same resource, the program may become over-tasked and run extremely slowly, if not crash all together. Thus, software engineers work for hours trying to eliminate conflicts such at these. It is hard work made even harder by the fact that hackers and spammers across the globe are making programs able to infiltrate PCs and place their own information in a registry. Since they never go through conflict testing, they will often cause slowdowns and crashes. Even if the program is not malicious, a poorly written browser extension can cause instability, such as a browser crash or worse.

Fortunately, these problems are preventable. Just as a virus checker scans a computer searching for viruses and malware, a windows registry cleaner scans the registry looking for errors and problems. These errors range from entries made by viruses to an incomplete uninstall, leaving orders for the computer to look for a file that no longer exists or for a corrupted file in need of replacement. Registry cleaners will identify and repair these problems. This will improve stability and prevent crashes. It is important to remember that small problems are easier to fix than big problems consisting of dozens of small problems. Therefore, it is recommended that they be used regularly to ensure optimum stability. It is also not recommended for a user to alter their registry unless they are properly trained. Deleting the registry for an important program will prevent the use of that program and require a re-installation. Therefore, using one's common sense is important, as it is better to allow a registry cleaner to do its job rather than to risk damaging one's computer.

In conclusion, windows registry errors will severely damage a computer's stability. However, through the regular use of windows registry cleaners, these problems can be prevented.
