History of Registry Cleaners

A registry cleaner is a software utility that removes incorrect and outdated entries from your Windows registry.

When you install, uninstall or reinstall programs on your computer, or change your system settings you will unavoidably have adverse affects to your registry. Microsoft created and then released its first registry cleaners to the general public during the time when Windows 98 was released. At that time numerous software retailers followed suit and designed a myriad of registry cleaners meant to tidy and maintain the Windows registry. In fact, many of those ensuing registry cleaners were more effective and better at supporting the registry.

Modern registry cleaners

While the modern Windows operating system is much faster and more stable than the 3.11, you will still encounter problems if you do not maintain your registry properly. In fact, when you don’t use the appropriate registry cleaner, you may even see your computer’s performance drop little by little every day until your system finally freezes up.
